Remarks and remembrances at the MA 54th Memorial and Camp Meigs markers in the park
Wreath laying at the civil war monument, Old Village Cemetery
"Reading Frederick Douglass Together" opportunity - members of the community volunteer to read short parts of a Douglass speech (excerpts from Douglass’ 1864 “The Mission of the War” speech along with excerpts from letters between Frederick and Charles Douglass while Charles was at Camp Meigs) (Generously supported by a 2025 Reading Frederick Douglass Together grant from our partner Mass Humanities)
Book giveaway (Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives hardcover version of Douglass' Narrative)
Children's events (face painting/make a card for the soldiers of the Massachusetts 54th/other crafting activities)
