Friday, 12th, 5pm (GMT): Douglass Day Transcribathon: Friday, 12th, 5pm (GMT): Douglass Day Transcribathon: Virtual event using the “By The People” platform at the Library of Congress. We will transcribe the papers of Mary Church Terrell, a foundational Black activist, educator, thinker and writer who helped to create Douglass Day in 1895. She also helped found the National Association of Colored Women (NACW) and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), hosted by Dr. Orla Murphy (University College Cork).
