The painting is a powerful image — one that invokes respect, admiration, and unity — and its size and scope will help amplify Douglass’ message and raise awareness of his work in the community. Learn more about the lost history of Frederick Douglass and the University of Rochester during this lunch hour presentation. You’ll hear about the enduring connections, associations and lasting friendships between Douglass and members of the university administration, faculty and student body.
Now in its 5th edition, this event is an an exciting opportunity for educators to embrace new perspectives and strategies and to expand the network of international educators dedicated to teaching influential figures like Frederick Douglass. During the event, educators from the United States who possess extensive experience in teaching Douglass in classrooms of different schools and institutions or have otherwise engaged in teaching about Douglass, will share their valuable knowledge and expertise with the educators of the FDIC working group and guests.
