📣 1️⃣ CHANGEMAKER #1: SIDNEY POITIER

The first changemaker we would like to highlight is Sidney Poitier whose passing broke our hearts. Throughout his career in film and cinema, he spotlighted racial discrimination and highlighted the importance of egalitarianism. Poitier refused to be defined only by his skin color, and claimed equality for all human beings. He was granted a knighthood by Queen Elizabeth II in 1974 and in 2009, President Barack Obama presented Poitier with the Medal of Freedom. A changemaker and brilliant man who will be sorely missed.
